- 2 lbs fresh asparagus, tough ends trimmed
- 12 slices regular-cut or thin-cut bacon
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper (or to taste)
- Optional: 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Optional: 1 tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
- Gather 3-5 asparagus spears into bundles. Drizzle with olive oil, then season with salt, pepper, and optional garlic powder.
- Wrap one slice of bacon around each asparagus bundle, starting at the bottom and spiraling upwards. Secure ends by tucking or using a toothpick if necessary.
- Arrange bundles in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, seam-side down.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until bacon is mostly crisp and asparagus is tender-crisp.
- For extra crispness, broil for 1-3 minutes, watching carefully. If using maple syrup, brush it on during the last few minutes of baking/broiling.
