- 1 ¾ cups (210g) all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
- ¼ cup (50g) packed light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- ¾ cup (180ml) whole milk, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
- ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup (56g) unsalted butter, melted
- For the Glaze:
- 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk (or water)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, ¾ cup granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the first ¼ cup melted butter, eggs, ¾ cup milk, and 1 tsp vanilla extract.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry. Fold gently with a spatula until just combined (do not overmix).
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While bread bakes, combine ½ cup granulated sugar and 2 tsp cinnamon for the coating. In a small bowl, melt the remaining ¼ cup butter. Whisk powdered sugar, 2-3 tbsp milk, and ½ tsp vanilla for the glaze.
- Let bread cool in pan for 5-10 minutes. Invert onto a wire rack. While still warm, brush all sides with melted butter, then generously coat with cinnamon sugar.
- Once bread is completely cool, drizzle with glaze. Let set before slicing and serving.
