- 2 cups (500g) full-fat Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup (20g) unsweetened cocoa powder (preferably Dutch-processed)
- 1/4 – 1/2 cup (50-100g) granulated sugar, honey, or maple syrup (to taste)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of fine sea salt
- Optional: Chocolate chips, chopped nuts, fresh berries for add-ins
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the full-fat Greek yogurt, cocoa powder, chosen sweetener, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
- Whisk thoroughly until the mixture is completely smooth, lump-free, and uniformly chocolate colored.
- Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness if desired. Remember flavors are slightly dulled when frozen.
- Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container. Ensure it’s covered tightly, preferably with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface to prevent ice crystals.
- Freeze for at least 3-4 hours, or preferably overnight, until firm.
- To serve, let stand at room temperature for 10-15 minutes (for soft-serve) or scoop directly if you prefer a firmer texture.
