Scale
- 8 all-beef hot dogs
- 8 slices thin-cut bacon
- 8 hot dog buns
- 1/2 cup sriracha
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- Fresh jalapeño slices, for topping (optional)
- Chopped scallions, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) or prepare grill to medium-high heat. Slit hot dogs lengthwise about halfway through. Wrap each hot dog spirally with a slice of bacon, securing with a toothpick if needed.
- In a small bowl, whisk together sriracha, brown sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic powder, and ground ginger until smooth.
- Place bacon-wrapped hot dogs on a parchment-lined baking sheet or grill-safe tray. Brush half of the firecracker sauce generously over the hot dogs.
- For Baking: Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway, until bacon is crispy. Brush with remaining sauce during the last 5-7 minutes. Briefly broil if needed for extra crispness.
- For Grilling: Grill for 10-15 minutes, turning frequently, until bacon is crispy and hot dogs are heated through. Brush with remaining sauce during the last few minutes.
- Serve hot in toasted buns, topped with fresh jalapeño slices and scallions, if desired.
