- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning, divided
- 24–28 oz jar marinara sauce (good quality)
- ½ medium onion, finely diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1.5 cups shredded low-moisture, part-skim mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Optional: ¼ cup Panko breadcrumbs for topping
Instructions
- Step 1: Prep the Chicken: Pat chicken dry, pound to even thickness (½-¾ inch), and season with salt, pepper, and 1 tsp Italian seasoning.
- Step 2: Layer Slow Cooker: Pour ½ cup marinara into the slow cooker. Arrange seasoned chicken over sauce. Top with 1 cup marinara, diced onion, minced garlic, and remaining Italian seasoning.
