  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon Baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup (240ml) Buttermilk, room temperature
  • 2 large Eggs, room temperature
  • ½ cup (113g) Unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, sifted matcha, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate medium bowl, whisk together buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Divide batter evenly between prepared pans.
